2020 William Hill World Darts Championship

Darts returns to Ally Pally today after its usual Christmas break with 6 mouthwatering ties to entertain even the most hungover from the festive days.

PDC World Championship Day 12 Preview

Whitlock vs King

First up are the two veteran campaigners Whitlock and King. Both struggled for form earlier in the season but as is often the case they have found something extra for Ally Pally.

Either of these two could win this and it wouldn’t surprise me to see this go the distance.

Gurney vs Durrant

Gurney and Durrant face off in the second game of the afternoon and this could be an extra Christmas cracker for the fans.

Gurney has slipped a little in recent tournaments and is looking for some festive spirit to give him a boost heading into next season.

Duzza on the other hand is looking for another win in his quest to be the first person to ever hold both the PDC and BDO world titles.

Another tight game to call and I will avoid a prediction here.

Dobey vs Sherrock

Two players who are very much in the form of their life take to the stage for the final game in the afternoon session.

Dobey has been flying in the latter stages of the 2019 campaign and came into the tournament on the back of a superb Players Championships Finals.

Sherrock has been a revelation so far this tournament with wins over Evetts and Suljovic. The spotlight has been firmly shining in her eyes since her first round win and will have had a far from quiet Christmas celebration.

Controversial predication here I am sure but Dobey will win this comfortably.

Friday December 27
Afternoon Session (1230 GMT)
3x Third Round
Simon Whitlock v Mervyn King
Daryl Gurney v Glen Durrant
Fallon Sherrock v Chris Dobey

Price vs Henderson

Touted by many as the clear second favorite for the title Gezzy has been on fire this year. Could the cold/flu he is suffering from as per his post on Instagram hold him back tonight?

Henderson remains a crowd favorite as witnessed by his remarkable performance as a Premier League contender. Capable of big scoring The Highlander often mixes up the big scores with a wayward few in the 1.

Whilst I really enjoy watching Big John I think Price will have far too much in the tank and wins this comfortably.

Anderson vs Aspinall

What can you say about the Flying Scotsman? His win coming from 3-1 down against Searle was probably just the game Gary needed to brush off any cobwebs in his game.

Aspinall was the revelation of last year’s edition and has backed that up with a stellar year on the tour. A maiden major at the UK Open and the win in Las Vegas at the world series silenced doubters.

A close call again here and I will again duck out of making a prediction.

Van Gerwen vs Bunting

Mighty Mike is hungry for another title to add to his collection and only the foolhardy bet against him.

Bunting has been in good for this tournament and looks like he could be getting back to his best.

As I say only the foolhardy bet against MVG but I see this being a little closer than the bookies are pricing it. He should win but I fancy Bunting to pick up a set or two.
