Michael van Gerwen defeated Gerwyn Price in Minehead last night so now is a good time to look at the UK Open as a player.
Here at Darts Mad we are in the unique position of sponsoring players on the PDC tour, and especially to be working so closely with current PDC tour card holder Matthew Edgar.
Matthew has done a series of Youtube films for us about various aspects of life as a player, in particular the well received series we wrote about and EdgarTV covered concerning Q-School and what it takes to be on tour.
The UK Open as a player
In his latest vlog Matthew takes a look at the UK Open as a player. We can all see the action going on from the main stage on ITV, can read various blog updates from websites throughout the day, and can track scores from the other boards using Dart Connect but what’s it like as a player?
Matthew covers everything from the last practice and traveling to Minehead all the way through to his final match in the fifth round where he lost out to Dimitri van den Bergh. Special thanks goes to Josh Phillips of the PDC media office for arranging for PDC cameras to follow Matt around Minehead throughout the duration of his matches. This has provided unique footage normally not allowed to be shown by non-PDC channels.
As always feel free to comment on this video on our social media channels or in the comments box below on YouTube and don’t forget to subscribe to EdgarTV.
