Dartsmad interview Dave Parletti ahead of his GSOD debut
DM: Firstly Dave, has much are you looking forward to playing in the Grand Slam Of Darts this weekend?
DP: I can not wait to play in the Grand slam of darts to share the stage with the best players in the world is unbelievable
DM: What do you make of your chances getting through your group, Gary Anderson hasn’t been playing well recently and has struggled with injury, the same goes for Darren Webster. Do you think your group is there for the taking?
DP: I’m just going take every game as it comes, and will try and play the board not the player
DM: What will it be like playing on the biggest stage of your career and in front of thousands, are you relishing the prospect?
DP: Well I would be lying if I said I’m not nervous but I’m going to enjoy the experience and give it my best shot
DM: What do you make of the other BDO players chances getting through their groups?
DP: I know that if the other BDO players play like they can they will have a good chance as well
DM: Do you think the likes of yourself and other BDO players can go on and reach the latter stages of the tournament?
DP: why not….? It worked for Scott Waites 😉
DM: How thankful are you to the PDC and to the BDO for giving you and the rest of the BDO players the opportunity to play at the Grand Slam?
DP: I’m unbelievably thankful for both organizations for giving me the chance to see how my game is at the next level
DM: There is a lot of long travel required to compete on the BDO circuit. Would you recommend it to youth players who play at many of the same tournaments?
DP: To be fair this is the first year I have done the full year on the circuit. Last year I missed 6 months due to illness and the previous year I only started half way through. I would recommend it to anyone though as it is a great way to learn the game.
DM: Finally, do you plan to go to Q School in January?
DP: Who knows what the future holds…
Many thanks to Dave for taking time out of his preparation for the tournament to speak to us. Everyone at Dartsmad would like to wish him good luck, and we will be keeping a close eye on his progress.
