Dartsmad interview with James Beeton

Today I am joined by JDC Star James Beeton. James is a talented youngster who plays on the PDC Development Tour and also plays on the JDC and BDO tours.

Twice a winner of the Slovakia Youth Open, he has also won the Welsh Youth Open, Denmark Youth Open and recently the Luxembourg Youth Open.

Beeton also won a JDC Event this year, making 3 finals. James plans to go to PDC Q School in January and aims to win a tour card and to be competing with the best players in the world.

DM: You will be representing England at the JDC World Cup in Gibraltar, this September, how much are you looking forward to it?

JB: Really looking forward too representing my country in Gibraltar. Proud moment to put on that shirt and I feel we have a really strong team in myself, Leighton, Keelan and Harry.

DM: How beneficial has playing on the JDC Tour been to you as you are given opportunities to play at the JDC Word Youth Championships and the JDC World Cup?

JB: The JDC taught me how to win years ago. Felt that was like a very early dart apprenticeship to learn how to win and handle different situations etc. The world championships out in Gibraltar will be a great event.

DM: What have you learned from playing on the PDC Development Tour compared to the BDO and JDC Events?

JB: I’ve learnt that the PDC’S set up is on another level to where I’ve ever played before. There’s no loud noise or shouting. It’s very professional and exactly how I like it.

DM: You have recently signed a sponsorship deal with SportIcons, how great is it to have a management company behind you?

JB: Having a new and growing company sporticons take me on was big for me. They have been excellent through all conversations and I’m delighted to be a part of a great team.

DM: I believe you will be going to PDC Q School in January, what would it mean to you if you got a PDC Tour Card?

JB: Yes I’m off to Q school January. Can’t wait for the challenge. Would mean everything to me to play on the Pro tour against the likes of Michael and Gary and to test myself against the best in the world.

DM: You have played on the BDO Mens Tour this year, how much experience have you gained and how much has it helped your game?

JB: I’ve played BDO men’s tour for near 2 years and it’s helped me massively. I used to fear playing the seeds but now I Relish it. On my day I can beat anyone in the world.

DM: You travel the BDO Tour with Anastasia Dobromyslova and Tony Martin, how helpful are they to you and also giving you support?

JB: Tony and Ana have been great with me. Allowing me to travel with them and also they’ve introduced me to some new friends and always look out for me.

We’ve got a good bond and I love traveling with them. They are great players and of course it was special when we all won events in Slovakia.

DM: Finally, what is your aim for the rest of the year?

JB: To win every tournament I play in.
